Twenty-Three Hours of Track and Field

The two-day Stanford Invitational begins Friday

Live Results Meet Schedule

STANFORD, Calif. -- The Stanford Invitational, which began in 1975, takes place Friday and Saturday at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Competition on Friday lasts from 9 a.m.-11:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. For those keeping score, that’s 23 hours of competition.

This is the first of two invitationals hosted by Stanford this season, with the Payton Jordan on April 25. Typically, this is the first meet of the outdoor season with Stanford’s full squad.

The meet is scheduled to include 2024 Olympic 800-meter finalist Juliette Whittaker, the reigning NCAA outdoor 800 champion. She is entered in the 1,500 meters on Friday and the 800 on Saturday in her first action of the outdoor season.

Alyssa Jones, who placed third in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships recently and is the Atlantic Coast Conference indoor long jump and high jump champion, is entered in the invitational long jump Friday at 1:30 p.m. and the 100 prelims at 11:49 a.m. This will mark Jones’ outdoor season debut.

Sophomore Sophia Kennedy, the ACC indoor 3,000 champion, is scheduled to race in the 1,500 on Friday.
Expected to make her collegiate debut is freshman Addie Pendergast, a 14-time Wyoming state champion. She is entered in the 200 on Friday.
