SALT LAKE CITY – No. 13 Stanford’s season came to a close Thursday evening in the second round of the NCAA Regional Championships, finishing third overall with a team score of 196.500.
Host No. 4 Utah and No. 18 Denver advanced to the regional final with identical scores of 197.650. BYU placed fourth with a 196.000.
Stanford concludes its season with a 19-6 overall record, its fewest losses in a single season since 2004.
The Cardinal opened strong on vault, tying its second-best rotation score of the season with a 49.250. Neault posted a 9.850 in the two spot of the line and was followed by a 9.825 from freshman Ui Soma. Senior Anapaula Gutierrez added a 9.850 up fourth, while junior Anna Roberts notched her eighth 9.900-or-better score of the season in the fifth spot. Junior Taralyn Nguyen anchored the rotation with a 9.825.
On bars, Stanford posted a 49.300. Gutierrez and Neault each scored a 9.825, with Roberts adding a 9.850 in the fifth spot. The rotation was highlighted by 9.900s from sophomore Sienna Robinson and Soma.
Beam proved the toughest event of the night for the Cardinal, who totaled 48.600 after two early falls. Despite the setback, Temple Landry stood out with a 9.850, followed by solid routines from Neault (9.775), Roberts (9.875), and Robinson (9.775).
Stanford finished on a high note with its best event score of the night on floor of 49.350. Nguyen, Roberts, and Walker each earned 9.900s, while Claire Dean and Neault contributed 9.825s to open the rotation.
Stanford now awaits word on whether any individuals will advance to compete at the 2025 NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
