STANFORD, Calif. – After 10 hard-fought innings, the No. 15 Cardinal topped Saint Mary’s 5-4 tonight to move to 25-6 on the season. Kyra Chan’s walkoff single sent the Stanford Stadium crowd home happy, extending the team’s perfect start at the venue to 16-0 in 2025.

Joie Economides got the scoring going early, driving a ball off the wall to plate two in the first. Two batters later, Allie Clements doubled off the wall to score two more and make it a 4-0 lead after the first inning.

The Gaels kept Stanford off the scoreboard until the 10th inning, adding two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh to send it to extras.

In the circle, Kylie Chung was dominant for the Cardinal. The senior started and picked up the win, tossing 8.1 non-consecutive innings. The win was her 10th of the season, and came behind single-game career highs in strikeouts (8), pitches (131) and innings pitched (8.1).

Chung finished with just one run allowed on three hits, striking out eight.

After eight-straight innings held scoreless, Chan ended the game in the second at-bat of the 10th frame. After Economides walked to lead off the inning, Chan singled a 2-0 pitch up the middle to go ahead 5-4.

The Cardinal is in action again this weekend, starting a three-game series with Clemson on Friday. Game one from Stanford Stadium starts at 6:00 p.m. PT. Tickets are available at Tickets.GoStanford.com, and the game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
