STANFORD, Calif. – Four Stanford men’s basketball players have earned Academic All-District Accolades from College Sports Communicators. Ryan Agarwal, Benny Gealer, Chisom Okpara and Oziyah Sellers earned the accolade, while Sellers advanced to the national ballot for Academic All-America recognition.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Sellers was one of the top guards in the ACC, finishing the season in the top-25 in the conference in scoring while posting the fourth-best 3-point percentage against conference opponents. He averaged 13.7 points per game on the season while shooting 40.1 percent from beyond the arc and 89.7 percent at the free throw line, the latter a top-five single-season mark in program history.

A swiss army knife in Stanford’s rotation, Agarwal finished his redshirt sophomore season with averages of 7.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game per game. He was one of a number of Stanford athletes to improve his scoring by more than five points per game from the prior season, and he finished in double figures nine times.

Gealer was one of the most efficient point guards in the ACC, leading the ACC in assists per turnover (3.6-to-1) among players with multiple assists per game. His second-straight season earning Academic All-District honors, Gealer averaged 6.0 points and 2.0 assists per game on the season.

Okpara averaged 6.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc. Okpara finished in double figures 10 times, and shot 63.2 percent (12-for-19) from 3-point range in ACC play. He was in the top-10 in scoring off the bench in the ACC.

The Cardinal finished the season at 21-14 overall, marking its most victories since 2014-15 while matching a program record with 17 wins at Maples Pavilion.
